i can't take it anymore you idiots realize dollar "collapse" has been predicted for 40 years and hasnt happened right? every fucking cycle same doomer bullshit while usd remains global reserve currency

difference is rest of world now has alternatives. China wasnt 2nd largest economy in 1980s. BRICS wasnt creating alternative payment systems. US wasnt openly weaponizing dollar against allies. Context matters. Empire decline is process not event

ok this whole thread start to play on my nerve too. got like 3k sitting there not much but still..
If you're actively trading, USDT is fine. Problem is holding it long-term as savings. Stablecoins are meant to be temporary - park funds between trades. Not meant to replace actual savings in hard assets.

The geopolitical angle is genuinely concerning though. I'm old enough to remember when US was unquestionably the global anchor - economically, militarily, diplomatically. Now? Threatening NATO allies, tariff wars, using dollar as weapon, massive debts, political chaos. Other countries noticing

you keep saying threatening nato like its bad thing. maybe if europe paid their fair share we wouldn't need to threaten. 2% gdp minimum and most of you don't even hit that while we spend 3.5%
also those tariffs protecting american workers from unfair trade fuck globalism
facepalm bro

Whether tariffs are "good" or "bad" is political question. Economic reality is they increase costs and piss off trade partners. Trade partners respond by reducing dollar usage. That's just cause and effect.

Fine, we'll pay more for defense but then don't expect us to keep holding dollar reserves or supporting your sanctions when you're unreliable bully rather then a partner. Can't demand money AND loyalty while actively undermining the relationship pal

gosh this one perfectly encapsulates why crypto attracts the dumbest people on internet. came to ask about stablecoin safety, now arguing about nato funding and american empire decline
reminder that you're all gambling addicts holding maybe-backed tokens debating geopolitics you don't understand

look pal its all connected though. usdt safety depends on dollar stability which depends on us maintaining global reserve status which depends on geopolitical credibility which is currently evaporating
cant separate them

True but we should probably focus on OP's actual question. My recommendation is simple:
- Convert 50% to BTC (removes both Tether and dollar risk)
- Keep 50% in USDT if you're actively gambling/trading
- Don't hold USDT long-term as savings
- Monitor Tether news but don't panic at every FUD cycle

seriously is usdt gonna collapse or not im confused?
Short version Tether risk: unknown but hasn't materialized in 8 years, $ devaluation riskis real but gradual (decade+ timeframe), BTC volatility risk one the other hand is very real (can easily swing 20% weekly). do math yourself
